Welcome to Belmont Chapel

Who are we?
Belmont Chapel is a large congregation of Christians meeting in the centre of the city of Exeter. We are an independent, evangelical church with strong bible teaching, lively worship and the involvement of as many people as possible in the running of the church.

Our aim is to share the good news of Jesus Christ with people who don't yet know him and to deepen the discipleship of Christians who already know him.

Want to find out more about being a Christian?
If you're curious about the Christian faith then we'd like to help you find out more. This term we're running two groups for people like you - please check out the 'Just looking' link on the right.

Sunday services
Our Sunday morning services are at 9.30am (with youthwork and creche) & 11.15 am (with creche) and our evening service is at 6.30pm. You will be very welcome to join us at any of our services.

During the week
Belmont is a hive of activity with groups for people of all ages. You can find out more by clicking on the links to the right. We encourage everyone who comes to Belmont regularly to join a home group. These are small groups which meet fortnightly in homes around the city for bible study, prayer and support.

Please browse the links on this page to find out more about Belmont or contact the Office on 01392 258029 or email office@belmont.eclipse.co.uk if there is anything you would like to know.

Relationships

Pastoral

The Care Team is responsible for coordinating the pastoral care at Belmont. Most of the day-to-day pastoral care takes place through our network of home groups, but there are time when we all need a little extra support and that's where the Care Team can help out. Our aim is to extend God's love to people in ways that will help them grow as Christians.

We regularly run “The Marriage Course”. Privacy as a couple is always respected. There is NO GROUP DISCUSSION and no requirement to disclose anything about your relationship to anyone else. Further details of the course can be obtained from http://relationshipcentral.org/marriage-course and information about the courses being offered by Belmont Chapel is available by emailing Mike and Sue Cox (our marriage support coordinators) at office@belmont.eclipse.co.uk with your contact details.
The next course starts in early January 2010.
Mike and Sue also have a leaflet listing appropriate organisations to contact for specialist marital help. This can be made available in complete confidence.

Parenting

Parenting courses
For a number of years at Belmont we have run courses to help parents find ways of being more effective and enjoying family life more. Both mums and dads have found these courses relaxing and enjoyable, and have had lots of laughs and made new friends. Here are a few comments from parents who have been on previous courses: I gained so much from the friendship and ideas of other parents ... Doing this course made me really think about how I interact with my children ... The relaxed, friendly approach was just what I needed at the end of a busy day'.

We're running an 8-week course this summer for parents of children aged 0-6 years. The course starts on Monday 10 May, 7.30pm, and you'd be very welcome to come along. To enrol or find out more, contact Val Symons in the Belmont Office on 01392 258029 or email office@belmont.eclipse.co.uk and we'll be in touch.

Mums' prayer support group
Every Monday morning 9.30-11.00 am a group of mums meets together to chat and pray together. Please contact Helen on 01392 678261 or Jane on 01392 677558 if you'd like to come along.

Dads and toddlers
Dads and toddlers meets on the 2nd Saturday each month 10.00-11.30am in the Hall. Get to spend some time with other dads and give the kids a chance to let off steam! Just come along - you'll be very welcome.

Homegroups

Home Groups

Belmont is a large fellowship. The sure way to become more than a face in the crowd and to enjoy the friendship and fellowship that Belmont offers is to join a home group.

Belmont home groups are arranged geographically. Currently over 400 Belmont people belong to one of the 29 groups that meet fortnightly around the city, normally on either Monday or Wednesday evenings. Two groups also meet during the day.

Home groups are where we learn to live out the Belmont mission statement of 'Sharing the Story and Living the Life'. Most weeks we study the Bible and learn how to apply what we read to our day-to-day lives and we also spend time praying for our world, our nation, our city, our church, our friends and for one another. Whatever your stage of life or faith, you're welcome to join a Belmont home group.

Home groups are the primary place where our loving support for one another is expressed. We put such a premium on them that everyone who becomes a member of Belmont Chapel is expected to belong to a home group.
